The Frozen Wave..when was the last time you scored a 20 minute wave ride, cracking the top off the lip every turn for around 40 plus turns? Snowboarding is the ultimate way to harness the colder months of the year and gain some massive balance and technique training. A direct relative to surfing and skateboarding, snowboarding allows you to practice hard carves, quick snaps and body weight transitions that will improve your general wave riding technique on the water. Most mountains now offer awesome ‘snow parks’ for the aerial enthusiast and, if you are adventurous enough, the board is the choice tool for off piste exploration.
There is something about the mountains that harness’ energy with an aura of unpredictability. That makes you feel small and vulnerable due to its size and stature. Mountain people are generally humble and respectful as, like watermen and women, they are continually aware of developments in the natural elements and natures moods, for sudden changes in the environment can be very dangerous if un prepared.
Tell me you have never seen footage of a snowboarder carving fresh tracks on a rugged Alpine face and not thought to yourself...’how do I get a piece of that!’ ... well let us show you how.
In the investigation phase are trips to NZL, Japan and the French / Swiss Alps. Please direct expressions of interest to: stoked@coreboardsports.com
